Resident state troopers' offices to accept medications Saturday
Three local resident state troopers’ offices are among the locations that will participate in Saturday’s national prescription drug take-back day.
Participating are the offices at 40 Main St. in North Stonington, 294 Shore Road in Old Lyme and 389 Route 2 in Preston.
Troopers will be on hand to accept old or unwanted medications, no questions asked, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The East Lyme Police Department at 278 Main St. also will be participating.
In an email, state Rep. Holly Cheeseman reminded residents they also can utilize a drop box located within the local police station from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Residents additionally can take advantage of the drop box at the state police Troop K barracks at 15 Old Hartford Road in Colchester. It’s available 24 hours a day seven days a week.
