    UPDATED: 27-year-old man fatally stabbed in New London

    New London — A 27-year-old man is dead after a police say he was stabbed Sunday afternoon on Grand Street.

    Police found Travon Brown suffering from stab wounds on Sunday about 2:30 p.m. in a house near the intersection of Grand Street and Elm Street.

    Emergency personnel took Brown to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police said his last known address was 74 Blackhall St. in New London.

    Officers gathered outside a home at 22 Grand St. after the incident and interviewed people there for several hours Sunday. Mayor Michael Passero was also at the scene.

    and the information to Tip411 (847411).

    The death is the third fatal stabbing or shooting in the city over the past eight days.

    On Dec. 9, a man was fatally shot in an Orchard Street apartment while the next day a man was fatally stabbed on the second floor steps of a Tilley Street apartment. Police have charged a man in connection with the Dec. 10 stabbing but have not yet made an arrest in connection with the Dec. 9 shooting. Police have said the incidents were not connected. 

    And on Oct. 24 a man was fatally stabbed on Blackhall Street. An arrest was made in connection with that case.
