Memorial set for Connecticut trooper killed in 2010 crash

WINDSOR (AP) — Family and friends will be gathering at a memorial service for a Connecticut state trooper killed in a highway crash in 2010.

The service for Trooper First Class Kenneth Hall is set for Sunday at Grace Baptist Church in Windsor. Plaques of appreciation will be presented to Hall's widow and Connecticut State Police.

Hall was killed on Sept. 2, 2010, on Interstate 91 northbound in Enfield. The 22-year state police veteran and former Marine was in his cruiser during a traffic stop when it was struck by a truck that veered into the right shoulder at about 80 mph.

The driver of the rented truck was sentenced to 11 years in prison.

Hall was the 21st state trooper or auxiliary trooper killed in the line of duty since 1922.
