Groton — The townwide referendum to vote on revising the Groton 2020 plan to allow the town to build two new elementary school buildings, rather than convert the existing middle school buildings into "like new" elementary schools, will be held Monday.

Though voters approved the revised plan in Dec. 2018, another referendum is needed because of an issue in which the December referendum didn’t meet the 30-day legal requirement for notification. More information is available on the town’s website, bit.ly/GrotonRef.

Polling places will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, May 6:

[naviga:li]District 3: Groton City Municipal Building, 295 Meridian St., Groton[/naviga:li]

[naviga:li]District 4: Mary Morrisson Elementary School, 154 Tollgate Road, Groton[/naviga:li]

[naviga:li]District 5: School Administration Building, 1300 Flanders Road, Mystic[/naviga:li]

[naviga:li]District 6: S.B. Butler School, 155 Ocean View Ave., Mystic[/naviga:li]

[naviga:li]District 7: Fitch High School, 101 Groton Long Point Road, Groton[/naviga:li]

Monday is also the municipal election in the City of Groton where city residents (districts 2 and 3) will vote for city councilors and city mayor. The municipal election is uncontested.
