Kindness in Real Life: Pfizer gives back with annual Bike Build
On Nov. 7, Pfizer Inc. in Groton participated in Operation That’s My Ride for the fifth year in a row as a Veterans Day tradition. About 120 Pfizer volunteers participated at the Groton atrium, helping to build bikes for the children of military families.
Pfizer partnered with the United Service Organization by encouraging employees to volunteer their time building about 100 bikes. Some children were on hand to test out their gifts, but it was up to parents whether to save the gifts for the holidays ahead.
In addition to the USO Bike Build, Pfizer annually helps with Toys 4 Tots contributions, which are collected by the Marine Corps League during the bike build event.
