Stonington — Police are investigating a Wednesday morning incident in which a woman got out of a car, smashed the window of the Water Street Barber Shop in the borough and stole two boat models valued at $400 each.
A borough resident witnessed the incident, which occurred at 4:11 a.m., and was able to provide information to police.
The shop was open later Wednesday and a piece of wood had been placed over the broken six-foot-by-four-foot, ¼-inch thick plate glass window.
The large boat models, made by local artist Tod Johnstone, are a radio-controlled version of a Coast Guard cutter and the America’s Cup trimaran.
