Norwich — The city clerk’s office has launched its 18th annual contest to select the dog to wear the No. 1 dog tag for the coming year.

All dog license applications received through 10 a.m. May 30 will be entered into the drawing for the top dog tag. Applications can be mailed or dropped off in person at the city clerk’s office, second floor, City Hall, 100 Broadway, Norwich CT 06360.

License fees are $8 for a spayed or neutered dog or $19 for an unspayed or unneutered dog; proof of spay or neuter and current rabies certificates are required. Make checks payable to Norwich city clerk.
