Greenville (N.C.) beats Waterford 3-2 in Babe Ruth (13) World Series

Glen Allen, Va. —Greenville (N.C.) scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to rally past Waterford 3-2 on Monday night in the Babe Ruth 13-year-old World Series.
Waterford, the New England champion, is now 0-2 in American Division pool play and returns to action today at 4 p.m. against Gainesville-Haymarket (2-0), the Virginia state champion.
Waterford broke a scoreless tie by scoring two runs in the top of the sixth, but Greenville (1-2) cut the deficit in half with a run in the bottom of the sixth before winning it with two runs in its final at-bat.
