Norwich — Police on Wednesday night arrested a New York man they said had 234 Oxycodone pills in his Norwichtown hotel room.

Quency F. Noel, 24, of Jamaica, N.Y., was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.

According to police, officers began surveilling the area surrounding the unnamed hotel after they received information that drug-related activity possibly was occurring there.

After they observed activities indicative of street level narcotics sales, officers approached and detained Noel, police said.

Police then obtained and executed a search warrant for Noel’s hotel room. They said they found 234 Oxycodone pills, several cellphones and more than $3,000 during their search.

Police said they later learned Noel had traveled by bus to eastern Connecticut and had stayed at multiple local hotels prior to his arrest.

Noel, who has been convicted of felonies in multiple states, was held on a $150,000 bond and was due in Norwich Superior Court on Thursday.

Police urged residents who see suspicious activity to call them at (860) 886-5561 or to call their anonymous tip line at (860) 886-5561, ext. 4. All calls can be kept confidential.
