SUMMERFEST KICKS OFF SATURDAY AT CAMP HARKNESS
Summerfest, a benefit for Camp Harkness, will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the camp on Great Neck Road, Waterford.
The event will include performances by the Boston band New Watch City and will include other special guests, displays of local crafters and vendors, visits with llamas and tours of campus on the Camp Harkness Sunshine Train. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Admission is $5.
Camp Harkness provides services for citizens with disabilities and their families and friends. More than 30,000 people use the park annually for swimming, hiking and camping.
Recently, a wheelchair-accessible labyrinth sensory garden was installed through fundraising efforts and community involvement. Crafters who would like to sell wares at the festival should call (860) 443-7818.
