Seizing the day: Groton mother shows gratitude by embracing life in Groton
Groton — Megan McDuffee of Groton says there is much she is thankful for.
On Wednesday, she brought her children — sons Burlington, 10 months, Cormac, 4, and Callan, 6, and her daughter, Oakley, 2 — to Haley Farm State Park. Yes, the elementary school teacher and Callan and Cormac were on their lunch break from distance learning, and yes, it was a good day to get outside for some fresh air.
But she also wanted to make sure she got out to enjoy the day because it was the anniversary of when, as a teenager, she had emergency surgery for a brain aneurysm.
She says she is thankful for surviving, for her family and for the good life she has had.
