Beach weather in October

New London — Crowds flock to Ocean Beach Park to enjoy the sunshine and warm tempeartures Wednesday.
"It's so nice to be able to spend this time together," said Cherie Richman of Willimantic, who was visiting with her husband, Bruce, and grandson Matthew Fortin. They recently retired and frequently will spend the day with Matthew when he's not in day care.
According to the National Weather Service, warm temperatures will remain in the region, with Thursday seeing a high in the upper 70s and Friday in the lower 70s.
