Holy cow! Central New York Jersey sells for $170,000
Syracuse, N.Y. (AP) — A central New York couple's Jersey show cow has been sold at an auction for a record-breaking $170,000.reports that Karlie the dairy cow was bought by Arethusa Farm of Bantam, Conn., during an auction held Monday in Onondaga Hill, just outside Syracuse.

According to the American Jersey Cattle Association's Jersey Journal, the previous record-high price for a Jersey cow sold at auction was the $92,000 paid for a cow raised in Dutchess County.
Aaron and Caitlin Eaton of Onondaga Hill were part owners of Karlie, a breeding cow who has had one calf herself and several other offspring born by surrogates.
