Groton ― State police said three teens were charged Tuesday following a fight in the gymnasium during a basketball game at Ella T. Grasso Technical High School.

The three teens, between the ages of 15 and 16, were each issued a juvenile summons charging them with breach of peace.

Police do not release names of juvenile suspects. The students involved in the incident were spectators at a basketball game and not students at Grasso, said Kerry Markey, director of communications for Connecticut Technical Education and Career System.

Police said they were called to the gymnasium of the school at 6:37 p.m. for a report of an active disturbance. State police were joined by Groton Town Police at the scene. At the time, there was a basketball game between Grasso and Vinal Technical High School in Middletown.

State police released no further details of the incident and said the investigation is ongoing.
