Veteran Jamaican toaster Sean Paul has bobbed pleasantly along in a sunny career, but even he probably didn't expect the sudden explosion of success he had in 2016.

In quick succession, Sean Paul rocketed up the charts — on a Grammy-nominated remix of Sia's "Cheap Thrills"; with girl-poppers Little Mix on "Hair"; and on "Rockabye" by classical crossover artists Clean Bandit.

I wouldn't count on any or all of these folks to show up when Sean Paul performs Friday in the Fox Theater at Foxwoods. But here's betting Paul will find a way to bring the hits. And, besides, he's earned his own Grammy nominations on several platinum albums over the years — so there's going to be no shortage of infectious material.

Oh, and if you had tickets to Paul's canceled performance at Foxwoods scheduled for last October 7, they'll be honored at this show.
