Montville rapper King.KJ plays "Live Lunch Break"
Hip hop comes to "Live Lunch Break" at noon today when King.KJ performs in New London's Telegraph Records Shop.
A Montville resident, King.KJ has the sort of mellow but earnest and sincere flow associated with folks like Phife Dawg or Talib Kweli, delivered over heartbeat rhythms and soulful choral/deep space effects. The King's message is overwhelmingly positive and one of hope — as per last year's 14-track "Rise" album.
Standout tracks include "Rich Spirit," "Year of Redemption" and "Fly Away," and rumor is King.KJ will bring a full band to provide musical support.
