Lieutenant Commander Adam Williamson will lead the U.S. Coast Guard Band in a festive outdoor concert featuring works with Spanish and Latin influence at 7 p.m. July 29 at Cadet Memorial Field, overlooking the Thames River, on the Coast Guard Academy campus in New London.

The evening’s soloist is soprano Musician 1st Class Megan Weikleenget.

The concert features Chabier's “Espana,” Texidor’s “Amparita Roca,” Frank Perkins’ “Fandango,” and Gandolfi’s “Vientos y Tangos." The stately march “Zacatecas” and the rousing “Danzon No. 2” by Marquez will be included, too, along with John Philip Sousa’s “El Capitan” and “Stars and Stripes Forever.”

This event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy is at 15 Mohegan Ave., New London. To enter the Coast Guard Academy, drivers are required to present a valid photo ID. For more on the Coast Guard Band, visit www.uscg.mil/band or call the Concert Information Line at (860) 701-6826.
