Ivoryton Playhouse to reopen with 'Murder for Two'

Joe Kinosian and Ian Lowe will star in "Murder for Two."

After being closed due to the pandemic, the Ivoryton Playhouse will open its doors for a five-play season with "Murder for Two."

"Murder for Two" by Kellen Blair & Joe Kinosian will run July 8-Aug. 1. It blends music, mayhem and murder. In this 90-minute show, two performers play 13 roles — not to mention the piano — in a winking homage to old-fashioned murder mysteries.

It stars Ian Lowe, who was last seen in Ivoryton in "The Woman in Black," and Joe Kinosian, who co-wrote the show. It is directed and choreographed by Wendy Seyb.

Performance times are 2 and 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays. There will be one Thursday matinee at 2 p.m. July 8.

The Ivoryton Playhouse stated, "The safety of our audience is our primary concern." Face masks are required at all times in the theater. There is no intermission, and no concessions will be sold. Eating and drinking are not allowed in the theater. The seats have been socially distanced so there are only 96 seats.

Tickets are $55 for adults, $50 for seniors, $25 for students and are available on June 14 by calling the Playhouse box office at (860) 767-7318. Tickets are not available online. Visit www.ivorytonplayhouse.org for more information. The Playhouse is located at 103 Main St. in Ivoryton.
