Man wanted in shooting arrested in New London
New London - A man wanted in New Britain in connection with a weekend double shooting that left a man in critical condition was found Tuesday in a residence on Rosemary Street.
New Britain police said Steward Holeman shot and seriously injured a 19-year-old New Britain resident Sunday night. A 24-year-old New Britain man was also shot, but he was not seriously injured.
New London police said they received an anonymous tip that Holeman was at a home at 5 Rosemary St. At 2:15 p.m. police surrounded the house and Holeman surrendered without incident. He was turned over to New Britain police.
New Britain police have charged Holeman with two counts of criminal attempt to commit murder, two counts of first-degree assault, three counts of criminal attempt to commit first-degree robbery and criminal possession of a firearm.
Holeman was arraigned Wednesday in New Britain Superior Court.
