Storm cancellations and postponements

The following cancellations and closings have been posted by local communities as a result of the winter storm.

• East Lyme

Schools will be closed today.

Town Hall is open with limited staffing.

There will be no trash pick up today. Residents should put out trash on Thursday. Christmas tree pickup will occur next week.

Parking ban is in effect.

• Griswold

School has been canceled for today.

• Groton

Schools will be closed today.

Library Board, RTM and Park and Recreation meetings scheduled for today have been canceled.

• Ledyard

School has been canceled for today.

• Lyme-Old Lyme (Region 18 school district)

Schools canceled.

Board of Education finance workshop rescheduled to 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Board of Education public hearing on acoustical standards for portables during LOLHS renovation rescheduled to 8 p.m. Thursday.

• Old Lyme

Town Hall closed today.

No recycling pick-up or trash pick-up.

• Montville

Schools will be closed today.

Town Hall and the transfer station will be closed today.

Parking ban is in effect.

Recycling pick up rescheduled for Thursday.

• Mystic

The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce has said it will "most likely" be closed today. The chamber is slated to move to its new location at the Welcome Center at the Mystic Depot on Thursday and Friday.

The Ocean Community YMCA has closed its branches in Mystic and Westerly today.

• New London

The public schools will be closed today.

All nonessential city offices shall be closed until 12:30 p.m.

Police reminded people that authorized on-street parking is on the even side of the road. The municipal parking lots and city garages are free to city residents during the parking ban.

State courts and administrative offices will be closed.

The New London Irish Parade Inc. committee meeting scheduled for 7 tonight at Hanafin's Pub on State Street has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Jan. 19.

Cross Sound Ferry has canceled all departures for today.

• North Stonington

School has been canceled for today.

Municipal offices will be closed today.

The Board of Education meeting scheduled for tonight at 7 has been postponed to Jan. 19.

• Norwich

State courts and administrative offices will be closed today.

City Hall, all city offices and the Rose City Senior Center are closed.

Two municipal meetings scheduled for today have been canceled, and city trash and recycling collection will be postponed by one day for the rest of the week.

The Norwich Public Works Department announced that trash and recycling schedules will follow holiday schedules, with residents scheduled for Wednesdays postponed to Thursday. Thursday collections will be done Friday, and Friday collections on Saturday.

The Spirit of Broadway Theater in Norwich announced that tonight's planned opening of the play "The Day Boy & the Night Girl" has been canceled. The play will open Thursday at 8 p.m.

• Old Saybrook

School and after-school activities are canceled for today.

The LCVSA/CREMPO meeting set for today will be held Thursday at 8:30 a.m.

Town Hall, Parks & Recreation, Youth and Family Services and Acton Public Library are closed today.

Tonight's film-fest triple feature at The Kate theater is canceled.

• Preston

School has been canceled for today.

Sachem Chapter #57 Order of Eastern Star has canceled tonight's meeting in Preston.

• Stonington

School has been canceled for today. Town Hall is closed, and garbage pickup has been postponed until Thursday.

The Stonington Community Center has canceled all activities for today, including off-site sports practices.

A parking ban is in effect.
