Norwich - A state prosecutor says a third person will be charged in the 2004 death of a New Hampshire scientist and author.

Prosecutor Paul Narducci said Friday that Mozzelle Brown will be charged with felony murder in the May 14, 2004, death of Eugene Mallove of Pembroke, N.H.

The Norwich Bulletin reports that Brown was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison in California under the Armed Career Criminal Act for felons with previous convictions for drug offenses and violent crimes.

He couldn't immediately be reached for comment. Narducci says officials are preparing to serve the arrest warrant.

Mallove, 56, was found beaten to death in the driveway of his Norwich rental property at 119 Salem Turnpike. Two of Mallove's former tenants have been charged in his death.

Mallove was a finalist for the 1991 Pulitzer Prize for a book he wrote on cold fusion theory. A physicist, he was editor-in-chief of Infinite Energy magazine.

Norwich and state police reopened the case after New London Superior Court Judge Susan B. Handy dismissed charges against two men who were initially charged with the murder.

In June 2009, the state took three witnesses into the witness protection program and by April 2010, the police had enough information for warrants against Chad M. Schaffer, a restaurant worker from Taftville, and his ex-girlfriend Candace L. Foster.

Schaffer and Foster implicated Brown in the murder.

Brown is serving a 15-year prison sentence for weapons and drug dealing.
