Connecticut beats Phoenix, 95-92

Mohegan — Kara Lawson scored all of 14 points in the fourth quarter, including a go-ahead 3-pointer in the final minute, as the Connecticut Sun rallied to beat the Phoenix Mercury Friday, 95-92, before 9,007 at Mohegan Sun Arena.

The Sun trailed by as much as 11 points (64-53) with over three minutes left in the third quarter.

Asjha Jones had 16 points and 11 rebounds for Connecticut (18-10), which assured its first winning season in two years. Tina Charles added 17 points and nine rebounds.

Penny Taylor and Diana Taurasi both scored 26 for the Mercury (15-12).
