Photo and story worthy of her album

I could not believe my eyes. Is The Day really putting the picture by Jennifer McDermott, "Subsurface Sacrament" (March 13) on the front page? The Rev. Tom Hoar from Enders Island, also the Catholic priest for the Naval Submarine Base, distributing Holy Communion? The picture is so beautiful, so touching and so meaningful.

Also, the accompanying article by Ms. McDermott, "Sunday: A Day of 'Rest' at Sea," is interesting and very well-written.

I congratulate her on her skill at capturing the image at exactly the right moment. I'll be keeping "Subsurface Sacrament" in my album forever.
