UPDATED: State police charged man with risk of injury to a minor at Baltic school

State police arrested a Hebron man Tuesday following what they described as an extensive investigation by the Eastern District Major Crimes Squad into allegations of inappropriate contact with a juvenile student in 2010 at the Academy of the Holy Family, a high school in Baltic.

Robert S. Pfeiffer, 30, of 351 Jagger Lane, Hebron, was charged with risk of injury/impairment of the morals of a minor.

The state police press release said the case “revolved around inappropriate contact between Pfeiffer, who at the time was a teacher at the Academy of the Holy Family, and a juvenile student in 2010.”

The academy’s website describes the school as a Catholic day and boarding high school “for young women in grades 9 through 12.”

The court set Pfeiffer’s bond at $50,000 and scheduled him to appear in Norwich Superior Court on April 26.

An official at the academy authorized to speak to the press was not available Tuesday night to say whether Pfeiffer still works at the school.

Police were not releasing any further details.
