A new vegetarian restaurant and it's a must try
Someone pointed out to me once that food trends seem to be getting somewhat polarized. There's definitely been a surge in healthy, organic, eco-conscious living in the U.S. in recent years. But, at the same time, there's a part of us that's drawn to Man vs. Food-esque over-the-top, decadent, high caloric and high cholesterol food like that guy who has that heart attack burger place, or something like that.
It's like it's either bland alfalfa sprouts and hummus, or weird combinations of fatty meats and cheeses wrapped together, battered, fried then served on a stick.
Well, I'm happy to say I tried a place last night that was healthy and environmentally conscious while at the same time being delicious and engaging to the taste buds.
It's a new vegan, vegetarian and raw foods restaurant in Chester called Six Main. I'll be reviewing it in Thursday's Night and Day so I won't give away too much quite yet. But I thought I'd offer a short list of some of the innovative dishes I tried while I was there:
-Raw walnut chorizo tostada with sundried tomato and flax tostada shell, salsa, radish jicama slaw, guacamole, cashew crema and pepita chorizo
-Red pepper tagliatelle with farm egg carbonara, handmade pasta, spinach and wild mushroom
- Vegan peach cobbler and ice cream made with avocado and cashew cream
So, look for my full review on Thursday. Or, if you can't wait, take the drive over to Chester and try Six Main for yourself. You won't be disappointed. Unless, of course, you're looking for that heart attack burger.
