Ambassador Foley to Appear at Groton RTC HQ Opening

Theresa Madonna—candidate for State Senate in Connecticut’s 18th District is proud to announce that Ambassador Tom Foley will be the guest Wednesday night at the Groton Republican Town Committee's Headquarters Opening in Groton. Ambassador Foley will be in town to shoot an episode of Capitol Ideas with host Cathy Cook and has agreed to help kick off the campaign season’s homestretch at HQ.

Foley is a former United States Ambassador to Ireland and Director of Private Sector Development in Iraq. He is also an accomplished businessman and active fundraiser for the national and state Republican Parties. Most recently, he was Connecticut’s 2010 Republican Gubernatorial Candidate, losing to Governor Malloy by less than a single percentage point. Ambassador Foley did, however, win the 18th Senatorial District, and Madonna says she looks forward to hearing Foley address the crowd at the HQ opening.

“First of all, I am honored that Ambassador Foley will be in attendance at the opening of our headquarters next week. He is an accomplished individual and I believe he still has a lot to offer Connecticut Republicans and the state in general. I very much look forward to hearing what he has to say about what it takes to win in this corner of the state, and I am sure he will add to the excitement that my campaign is generating already. I am confident that he will inspire all of my supporters who attend the opening into working hard for the last month of the campaign to ensure that we are successful on November 6th.”

The HQ opening will take place from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday October 10th at 80 Plaza Court in Groton between the Post Office and Benny’s. All are welcome to attend to meet Ambassador Foley; support state candidates Andrew Lavery, Harry Watson, and Theresa Madonna; and enjoy a night of food and drink to kick off all the hard work to come.
