U.S. Senator John McCain is quoted by reporter JC Reindl, "McMahon welcomes support from McCain and former rivals," (Oct. 2) as follows: "Osama bin Laden once said there is a strong horse and a weak horse, and people will go with the strong horse." Further, Sen. McCain, before a gathering of U.S. veterans in Connecticut, called the current foreign policy of the United States "feckless" and "disgraceful."

Since when does a senator quote a mass murderer and terrorist as an authority on anything? Since when does a U.S. senator refer to the foreign policy of the United States of America "feckless" and "disgraceful?" It seems to me these two issues are related: the leadership of America under President Obama brought to justice the terrorist and murderer McCain quotes. Odd how that policy can be called disgraceful and feckless by one rejected by the American people as our president in 2008.

And this is the man who GOP Senate candidate Linda McMahon welcomes to Connecticut to persuade us? My late father served in World War II. I can't imagine him quoting Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin or Tojo on any matter pertaining to America's leadership or foreign policy. We in Connecticut will decide what is "feckless and disgraceful" here, not bin Laden and McCain.
