Malloy extends multiple tax-related filing deadlines

Hartford – Multiple state tax-related filing deadlines have been extended because of Hurricane Sandy.

Under executive order by Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, the deadline for employers to file unemployment tax filings and payments is now Nov. 15 instead of Thursday, Nov. 1.

The same new Nov. 15 deadline also now applies to personal property tax declarations filed by businesses in the state, and for certain property tax exemption applications related to farm machinery, classification of land as farmland, forest land, and open space land.

An executive order signed Sunday night extends the deadline for in-person voter registration to 8 p.m. Thursday from Tuesday.
