NL Police: Drunk woman in crash had five-year-old in her car

New London — A city woman who police say had a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit was arrested Saturday night after they say her car hit another vehicle at a stop light. A five-year-old child was in her car at the time.

Police said that at 11:08 p.m. they responded to the intersection of Bank Street and Montauk Avenue for a two-car accident. Police said their investigation revealed that a car driven by Kelsey Wolfe, 26, of 27 Broad St. had struck a vehicle stopped at a red traffic light. Wolfe, her 5-year-old passenger, and the driver of the other vehicle were not injured.

Wolfe was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, risk of injury to a minor and following too close. Police notified the state Department of Children and Families, which assisted in the investigation.
