    Poor appointments by Montville Democrats

Recently two elected officials in Montville resigned and the Democratic Town Committee replaced them without public consent.

Newly appointed Town Council member and former Mayor Joseph Jaskiewicz is currently being sued by a longtime town employee for Jaskiewicz alleged verbal and abusive behavior that she claims caused her to leave her job. The other appointment of Joseph Socha, who the Democrats appointed to the Board of Assessment Appeals, was the subject of a wrongful death lawsuit, for which a jury recently found him liable.

Based on the seriousness of these two cases and with respect to the voters who chose Councilman Gary Murphy and Board of Assessment Appeal member John Geary, the Montville Democratic Town Committee should have exhibited better judgment when selecting replacements for these individuals.
