NFA-SB-Bacon hockey team loses in state semis

New Haven — Kevin Morton’s goal just 3 minutes, 7 seconds into the second sudden death overtime period gave third-seeded Bolton-Coventry-Rockville-Lyman Memorial a 2-1 victory over the Norwich Free Academy-St. Bernard-Bacon Academy cooperative program in the semifinals of the CIAC Division III hockey tournament Tuesday night at Yale University’s Ingalls Rink.
NFA-SB-Bacon, the No. 2 seed, forced overtime when Eric Brown, assisted by Ben Thompson, scored in the third period. Goalie Jonah Beauton made 35 saves for NFA-SB-Bacon (10-12), which was outshot 37-25.
