Old Lyme author to speak at Old Saybrook Land Trust event

Old Saybrook – The Old Saybrook Land Trust will present, “Far Afield and Close to Home,” a talk by writer and Old Lyme resident Richard Conniff, author of “The Species Seekers: Heroes, Fools and the Mad Pursuit of Life on Earth,” at 6 p.m. April 28 at Pasbeshauke Pavillion at Saybrook Point.

The event will start with a brief annual meeting at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

In addition to his latest book, Conniff has written six other books and numerous articles for national magazines. During his talk, he will show pictures and tell stories from his recent trip to Suriname, where he searched for new animal species.
