Teen charged with Montville home invasion
Montville — A 16-year-old male was arrested Tuesday on charges that he participated in a home invasion earlier this month at 77 Lake Road.
The teen was charged with home invasion, criminal attempt to commit first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, criminal attempt to commit fourth-degree larceny, criminal use of a firearm and first-degree threatening.
Zachary Spurgas, 23, of Bozrah was arrested April 11 for his role in the home invasion.
At about 1:30 a.m. on April 5, police said the 16-year-old and Spurgas confronted the homeowner inside the residence with a handgun. During the ensuing altercation, the homeowner and his son were able to subdue Spurgas until police arrived. The 16-year-old fled on foot, police said.
The teen was held at the Hartford Juvenile Detention Center pending his arraignment Wednesday in Juvenile Court in Waterford.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
