Lyme — A motorcyclist was killed Sunday evening when he crossed into oncoming traffic on Gungy Road, state police said.

Ryan Videll, 31, of Bozrah, was riding a 2003 Harley Davidson northbound on Gungy Road when it crossed into the southbound lane and struck a 2011 Cadillac Escalade driven by Kara Lech, 41, of Lyme. The accident happened around 6:39 p.m.

Videll was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he was not wearing a helmet.

The accident remains under investigation.
