Poquetanuck Cove cleanup set for June 8
The Eastern Connecticut Conservation District, in partnership with the towns of Preston and Ledyard and The Last Green Valley, is sponsoring a clean-up of Poquetanuck Cove, an embayment of the Thames River in Preston and Ledyard, at 9 a.m. June 8.
The rain date is June 15.
Paddlers especially are sought as most of the cove is best accessed by water, but land-based clean-up volunteers also are needed. Check-in will begin at 9 a.m. in the Brookside Café parking area, Route 2A in Preston. Volunteers will be assigned clean-up areas when they register.

After the clean up events, there will be light refreshments for the volunteers.
