Westerly Hospital looking for volunteers to provide "Comfort Touch" therapy

Westerly — The Westerly Hospital is recruiting volunteers to provide "Comfort Touch" complementary therapy to patients.

This relaxation technique involves gentle hand and foot touch designed to aid healing and increase well being. Training will be provided from 12 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at the hospital.

This four-hour training will be provided by Corinne Rossi, licensed massage therapist and Christine Gentry, registered nurse and board certified holistic nurse. After completion of Comfort Touch training, volunteers will be asked to complete a volunteer application, have a health screening, and attend a general orientation.
