Clinton — Police arrested a Stratford man Thursday who they say sexually assaulted a woman at gunpoint earlier this month.

Cody Urban, 21, was charged with aggravated first-degree sexual assault with a firearm, first-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree assault, first-degree strangulation, carrying a dangerous weapon and first-degree threatening.

Police said the victim reported the sexual assault, which allegedly occurred on Oct. 3. As a result of the investigation, they obtained an arrest warrant on Oct. 10.

Seymour police on Thursday received a tip that Urban was hiding in an old mechanic garage that he converted into an art studio. He was arrested at about  9 a.m.

Urban was being held on a $500,000, pending his arraignment today in Middletown Superior Court.
