New London — Police closed off a portion of Connecticut Avenue Friday afternoon during an investigation into a motor vehicle accident in which a juvenile pedestrian was struck by a car.

The accident was reported at 2:53 p.m. in the area of 274 Connecticut Ave. The unidentified juvenile, who police said was alert and conscious, was taken by ambulance to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The accident remains under investigation.
