Sun waive Kalana Greene
The Connecticut Sun continued to shorten their roster Monday as they waived former UConn star Kalana Greene.
Greene started in 95 of the 101 games she played in over three seasons with the Sun. She averaged 5.1 points and 3.7 rebounds last season.
Connecticut acquired Greene from the New York Liberty during the 2011 WNBA Draft in exchange for its 16th overall pick, Sydney Colson. She was drafted 13th overall (second round) by New York in 2010.
The Sun must make one more cut this week to get their roster down to the 12-woman maximum allowed by the WNBA. They play host to New York on Friday in the season-opener for both teams.
