Two arrested in Norwich heroin seizure
Norwich — A lengthy investigation into illegal narcotics activity in the downtown area culminated today with the seizure of heroin, cash and the arrest of two Norwich residents, police said.
Police executed a search and seizure warrant at 201 Franklin St., Apt. A, the home of 22-year-old Steve Beas and 23-year-old Jorge Miranda.
Beas was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to sell and interfering with a search warrant. He was held in lieu of a $75,000 bond pending an appearance Tuesday in Norwich Superior Court.
Miranda was charged with interfering with a search warrant and released on a $500 non-surety bond. He is due in court on Sept. 11.
