Local VNA announces flu shot clinics

The Visiting Nurse Association of Southeastern Connecticut has announced its schedule of public flu shot clinics for September and October.

The vaccinations will be available at the VNASC offices at 403 North Frontage Road in Waterford from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Sept. 4 and 17; from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 8 and 29. They will be offered at the Groton Senior Center from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 4 and 9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 22; and from 9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 12 at the Stonington Community Center. They also will be offered at the Old Saybrook Estuary Council of Seniors from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 9; from 9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 15 at the North Stonington Senior Center; from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 26 at the East Lyme Senior Center; from noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center; from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 3 at the Waterford Community Center; and from 3 to 7 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Connecticut River Area Health District offices.

Patients should wear a short-sleeved shirt and bring their health insurance information. Medicare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Connecticare, Federal Blue Cross and Aetna insurance is accepted.
