Police say 12 guns stolen from Old Saybrook gun shop

Old Saybrook – The chief of the Old Saybrook Police Department has authorized a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest and the recovery of 10 handguns and two high-powered rifles stolen from the Grouse Perch, a gun shop located at 15 North St.

The burglary was reported Tuesday morning when the business owner realized his store had been burglarized. Old Saybrook police said they responded at 10:26 a.m. and seized physical evidence inside the gun shop.

Anyone with information concerning the stolen weapons is encouraged to contact Old Saybrook police at (860) 395-3142.

“We cannot allow stolen guns to be in our community,” Old Saybrook Police Chief Michael A. Spera said in a written statement. “We need to locate these stolen weapons - for everyone’s safety – as soon as possible.”
