Obama's legacy is horror and anguish, not hope and peace
Legacies. The current Obama administration began with the hopes of the world and a Nobel Peace Prize before there were any actions to celebrate. It is ending with a scream. The screams of children, women, and old men in Aleppo as Syria, Iran, and Russia commit the most heinous of war crimes. There will never be any consequences. When our allies favored intervention as atrocities mounted, America did nothing and vetoed any action by the French to stop the slaughter. I am ashamed.
Great powers do not have to commit ground troops to affect outcomes, but President Obama's argument has always been that to do nothing is better than doing something. That is his legacy. That and the screams of innocents.
