Boogie Wonder Band discos into 2017 at Mohegan Sun

    Boogie Wonder Band (Alex Loomis)

You want a concert that's pure fun? Then have we got the New Year's Eve music extravaganza for you: Boogie Wonder Band's two free Saturday gigs at the Mohegan Sun Wolf Den.

This disco-funk group turns out some of the dancing-est 1970s tunes around, from "Celebration" to "Disco Inferno" to "You Should Be Dancing." And they dress the glam part, as you can see here. Boogie Wonder Band has been around for more than a decade, and they've even shared the stage with some of the people whose songs they cover, like Kool & The Gang and Chic.

Note that the later one of the band's two Wolf Den shows starts at 11 p.m., so you'll be in mid-musical-romp when the clock strikes midnight. Hmm, do you think they'll play a disco version of "Auld Lang Syne"?

Boogie Wonder Band, 8 and 11 p.m. Saturday, Mohegan Sun Wolf Den; free; mohegansun.com.
