Man in Chicago Blackhawks hoodie robs Norwich AT&T cellphone store

Norwich -- Police say a man wearing a Chicago Blackhawks hoodie assaulted a male clerk at the AT&T Wireless Store at 609 W. Main St. late Monday morning and stole several cellphones and a significant amount of cash.

Police said they received a 911 call from the store clerk at 11:12 a.m. reporting a robbery had just occurred.

Police said a black male entered the store, which was occupied only by the clerk and assaulted him. After stealing the cellphones and cash, the man fled in an unknown direction. The suspect was also wearing black sweatpants and a black ski mask partially concealing his face.

Detectives are looking to identify the suspect pictured in a surveillance photo. Anyone with information about the robbery or the man’s identity is asked to contact Detective Kyle Besse #1013 at (860) 886-5561, Ext. 3156, or kbesse@cityofnorwich.org or by calling the department’s Anonymous Tip Line at (860) 886-5561, Ext. 4.
