Doo-wop group Human Nature woos at Foxwoods this weekend

Anyone who’s a fan of Jon "Bowzer" Bauman’s annual Rock ‘N’ Doo-Wop Party at Mohegan Sun, take heed. A doo-wop group by the name of Human Nature will also be bringing all your favorite Motown and blue-eyed soul hits to Foxwoods this weekend.

The Australian “boy band” group, together since 1996, is known for modern takes on 1950s and early '60s hits. Think “Runaround Sue,” “Be My Baby,” “Twist and Shout” and “Please Mr. Postman.” And, yes, in “Grease”-like fashion, the group likes to wear '50s-inspired baseball jackets, cuffed blue jeans and slicked-back hair.

At the same time, they also live in the 21st century. So shiny Justin Timberlake-esque dapper tuxedos aren’t out of the question either. And neither is the idea of tying in a segment of Backstreet Boys' “I Want It That Way” with the Beatles’ “I Saw Her Standing There.”

Their current tour, “Jukebox,” has them slated to perform classics such as “Under The Boardwalk,” “Stand By Me” and “Unchained Melody.”

Human Nature is known for their distinctive harmonies and live performances, so their show is likely to be a blast. But don’t take my word for it — the group has sold more than 2.5 million albums and earned 27 platinum awards since signing to Sony Music Australia over two decades ago. Since that time, they have toured the world and even established a Las Vegas headlining show.

    Human Nature, 8 p.m. Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday, Foxwoods’ Fox Theater; $59.50; 1-800-200-2882
