    Healing dog therapy

When my mother was in a nursing facility for four and a half months before going to heaven on April 3, the facility allowed me to bring my dogs into visit my mother. Not only did the visits cheer my mother up tremendously, but it also cheered up the other residents.

One resident would sing the Charlie Brown song, when I brought Charlie in. “That Charlie Brown, what a clown.”

I’m not sure the big hospitals allow pets to visit. I hope they do. Something about a dog licking your hand, and wagging their tail in delight, is indeed very uplifting.
