    Washington 6, Cal State Fullerton 5 (10)

Washington scored twice in the bottom of the 10th inning to come from behind and defeat Cal State Fullerton on Sunday night to win the deciding game three of the super regional and advance to the College World Series.

The Huskies (35-24) reach their first CWS in school history, a program that began in 1901. Fullerton fell short of reaching it 19th CWS.

Trailing 5-4, Joe Wainhouse walked to lead off the bottom of the 10 and Jack Johnson came on to pinch run. Levi Jordan reached first when Titans reliever Brett Conine fielded Jordan's bunt but his throw to first was wide and sailed into right field. Johnson advanced to third on the play.

AJ Graffanino then singled to short. Johnson scored on the play to tie the game at 5-5. Willie MacIver then hit a ball to short that Sahid Valenzuela couldn't handle loading the bases.

Kaiser Weiss then hit a sacrifice fly to left scoring Jordan — the winning run.

"I really wasn't nervous," Weiss said. "I went up there swinging and I knew I had to square it up and put it in play."

Huskies coach Lindsay Meggs said he knew it was going to be a tight game.

"Image having something taken from the palm of your hand twice in a half hour," Meggs said, referring Fullerton's comebacks. "We had two outs in the 10th and the ball goes over the fence. A lot team may have folded but our guys were up on the railing encouraging each other, you can't ask for a better attitude than that. This has been a work in process."

Alex Hardy (5-2) got the win and Conine (4-2) took the loss.

The Titans (36-25) erupted for three runs in the top of the ninth inning to take a 4-3 lead but the Huskies tied the score at 4-all on a one-out RBI single by Jonathan Schiffer in the bottom of the ninth.

Washington junior right hander Joe DeMers was pitching a one-hit gem until the ninth inning when he gave up four hits and three runs.

"I was little tired and wasn't throwing as hard as I was earlier, and they got a few hits in the ninth," DeMers said. "I tried to treat it like a regular game but it's something special to be going to Omaha."

DeMers retired the first 18 Fullerton batters he faced. He induced 11 groundouts, struck out three and only allowed two balls to be hit to the outfield over the first six innings.

Hank LaForte notched the Titans' only hit to that point when he led off the seventh inning with a double to right.

The Huskies took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning after Nick Kahle belted his 6th homer of the season over the left field wall to lead off the inning.

MacIver upped Washington's lead to 2-0 after he blasted his third HR of the season to left to lead off the fifth inning.

Jordan's two-out RBI single in the sixth inning gave Washington a 3-0 lead.

LoForte doubled and scored on a sacrifice fly to cut the lead to 3-1 in the seventh. He homered with two outs in the 10th to give the Titans a 5-4 lead.

Washington has won 10 its last 12 games.

"It was heavy weigh fight," Fullerton coach Rick Vanderhook said. "In the 10th they put down a bunt and we didn't execute. Then they hit two more groundballs and we didn't execute. It was a good ball game. From where we started the season, and then to get to within one win of going to the College World series, I'm really proud of these guys."

    Mississippi State 10, Vanderbilt 6 (11)

Tanner Allen's double in the 11th inning drove in the go-ahead run and sparked a four-run rally as Mississippi State outlasted Vanderbilt to advance to the College World Series.

Allen's line drive into the right-field corner scored pinch-hitter Josh Hatcher, who had walked to lead off the inning. Mississippi State (37-27), which will be headed to Omaha for the first time since 2013, later scored a second run when Justin Foscue drew a bases-loaded walk to drive in Rowdey Jordan, who had reached on an infield single. Luke Alexander followed with a two-run single to push the Bulldogs' lead to four runs.

The State rally made a winner of reliever Denver McQuary (2-2), who faced just two batters. Keegan James pitched a scoreless bottom of the 11th to pick up the save.

Tyler Brown (1-5) took the loss for Vanderbilt.

The game lasted 5 hours, 15 minutes, and its start was delayed two hours because of lightning in the area.

Vanderbilt (35-27) had rallied from three runs down in the ninth inning to force extra innings after Mississippi State had scored three times to take the lead in the top half of the frame. Pat DeMarco hammered a one-out home run to left off Bulldogs reliever Riley Self to cut the Mississippi State lead to 6-4. Harrison Ray then delivered a single, just ahead of a tying home run into the right-field stands by Ethan Paul to force extra innings.

In the top of the ninth, Mississippi State's Jake Mangum lined an RBI double down the right field line to plate the first of the Bulldogs' Mississippi State three runs in the inning to take a 4-3 lead.

Mangum, a switch hitter batting right-handed, hit the first pitch he saw from Vanderbilt left-hander Jackson Gillis into the right field corner to score Alexander with the go-ahead run for the Bulldogs. Jordan followed that with a sacrifice fly that scored pinch runner Jordan Anderson, and Mangum himself scored on a wild pitch as Mississippi State had seemingly broke the game open.

    Texas 4, Tennessee Tech 2

All-American Kody Clemens drove in two runs, one with his 23rd home run of the season, and Texas defeated Tennessee Tech to even their series at one victory apiece.

    Game 3 is Monday.

Texas (41-21) starter Chase Shugart (6-3) allowed just one run and two hits (he walked five) before leaving after six innings. Shugart picked up a win and a save as Texas won the regional it hosted to advance to the super regional.

The Longhorns jumped ahead 2-0 after two innings. Clemens, a finalist for national player of the year awards, lined a double to right center to drive in one run in the first.

Ryan Reynolds hit a bloop opposite field double to left that gave Texas a 2-0 lead in the second inning.

Tech (53-11), which leads the nation in batting average and home runs, produced just three hits and has one homer in two games here.

The Golden Eagles, home team for Game 2, cut the deficit in half in the second with a single, walk and throwing error by Clemens while trying to complete a double play.

Clemens didn't take long to atone; he slugged a solo home run off losing pitcher Travis Moths (13-3) with one out in the third for a 3-1 lead. Clemens also hit a home run in the 5-4 Texas loss in Game 1.

Clemens inspired a run of Twitter commentary for his trip around the bases when he homered in the third inning. He flipped his bat as the ball flew over right field and stared into the Tennessee Tech dugout as he rounded third and flashed the "Hook 'em Horns" sign.

Clemens, a third-round draft pick by the Detroit Tigers and son of seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens, faced no retribution from Tech pitcher Travis Moths the next time he came to bat.

Tech coach Matt Bragga said he didn't want his players' emotions to get the best of them.

"When he did that, it is what it is. I get it," Bragga said. "It's the heat of the moment, he's excited, they're up, hit a big home run. More power to him. I understand that. It's part of the game."

Texas added a fourth run with an RBI single by Tate Shaw in the seventh inning.

Shugart walked two batters in the sixth, putting runners on first and second with one out, Chase Chambers and Trevor Putzig hit benign fly balls to end the inning.

Blair Henley, a front-line starter making his first relief appearance of the season, replaced Shugart in the seventh. He was greeted by David Garza, who hit his 17th home run of the season. Henley picked up a save

    Auburn 3, Florida 2

Luke Jarvis' single in the bottom of the ninth scored pinch-runner Cade Evans from second base and gave Auburn a victory over top-seeded Florida.

The win set up a decisive game Monday night.

Jarvis was hitless in seven at-bats in the series before coming through in the clutch.

Brendan Venter got things started in the inning with a lead-off walk off reliever Jordan Butler (6-2). He moved to second on Jay Estes' single and then gave way to Evans. Jarvis drove the first pitch into left center, easily scoring Evans.

Will Holland had an RBI double in the eighth, and Steven Williams homered in the fourth for Auburn (43-22).

The Gators (46-19) trailed 2-1 in the ninth before Austin Langworthy's leadoff homer off closer Cody Greenhill (6-2).

    Duke 11, Texas Tech 2

Max Miller drove in four runs and Duke avoided elimination again, winning at Texas Tech to force a deciding Game 3 in their super regional.

Game 3 is Monday, with the winner advancing to the College World Series. Texas Tech (43-18) is trying to get to Omaha for the third time in five seasons. Duke's last CWS appearance was in 1961.

The Blue Devils (45-17) had to win four consecutive games to take the NCAA Athens Regional after losing their opener there. They started their first-ever super regional with a 6-4 loss on Saturday.

Lefty Graeme Stinson (5-1) threw seven scoreless innings with six strikeouts. Texas Tech sophomore right-hander Caleb Kilian (9-2) allowed five runs in four-plus innings.

Miller had an RBI double in a four-run fourth, then had a bases-loaded triple when Duke added six more an inning later for a 10-0 lead.

    South Carolina 8, Arkansas 5

LT Tolbert hit a grand slam to help South Carolina keep its season alive with an 8-5 win over national No. 5 seed Arkansas.

Tolbert's home run highlighted a five-run fifth inning for the Gamecocks (37-25), who will face the Razorbacks in a deciding third game on Monday — with the winner advancing to next week's College World Series.

Justin Row and Hunter Taylor each added home runs for South Carolina, and Carlos Cortes had three hits in the win. Cody Morris (9-3) earned the win after allowing only one unearned run in five innings.

Arkansas (43-19) opened the super regional with a 9-3 win but never led on Sunday. Kacey Murphy (8-5) allowed four runs in 4 ½ innings and took the loss, and Heston Kjerstad and Carson Shaddy had home runs for the Razorbacks.
