Members of The Arc New London County’s Employment Transition Center visited The Resident in Pawcatuck this month as part of its vocational training program for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Publisher Alexis Ann invited participant employees of The Arc NLC to attend a customer service training session so they could deliver the community paper to area businesses and restaurants twice a month.

“It’s a great way for area businesses to get to know us and see what great employees these guys are,” Bonnie Jones, The Arc’s director of employment services, said in a release. “It also provides some wonderful training opportunities in good customer relations, record keeping, and understanding all the work involved in putting out a newspaper.”
