New London — Crew and students aboard the schooner Roseway clean the vessel Thursday as part of a "field day" while docked at the Custom House Pier.
Roseway, operated by World Ocean School out of Boston, is sailing with a group of 22 students from Proctor Academy in Andover, N.H., from Maine to the Caribbean. While on board, students take marine science, maritime history, literature, navigation and seamanship courses.
Roseway stopped in New London to avoid the remnants of Hurricane Michael and will continue its voyage once the storm has passed.
